Any warnings for this book; Ménage, M/F/F, F/F, if you don't like those themes don't read on or purchase the book.

Star Rating; 4.5*s

Could I ever read it again? Yes I could read it again.

Would I ever read it again? I could easily pick up this book again in a few years and probably still enjoy it.

Would I recommend it? Yes.

Who would I recommend it to? Over 18s who enjoy erotica books, Selena Kitt fans. I probably wouldn't recommend this if you are just starting out with the erotica genre, make sure you're comfortable with the genre first.

Review; Selena Kitt is easily becoming one of my favourite erotica authors. In fact I think she is my favourite at the moment. Then again I don't read a lot of erotica. This is my third book from Selena Kitt, but it won't be the last.
The other two books I have read were called Connections and Under Mr Nolan's Bed. Out of all of these stories/books/novellas I found this one had more emotion. Some actual emotions were shown. Not that they weren't in the other two, I just felt they were more on show within this work.
Because more emotion was displayed I found I could connect more with the characters. This to me is always a good this when it comes to books. Another thing that I rarely enjoy with book, are the endings, this ending however was more satisfying. It was an end. It wasn't just open for the world to guess what happens next. It was final and kind of sad.
Sure this book had a lot of sex in it, most erotica's do. But if you are going to buy book porn from anyone make it Selena Kitt. Her books, and writing are amazing. The sex scenes are well written, always different, and real. None of them feel fake, or over done. If you have not bought a Selena Kitt book yet, then you should buy one now!

Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth

Title; Insurgent

Author; Veronica Roth

Publisher; HarperTeen

Publication Date; May 1st 2012

Series; Divergent Book Two

Can it stand alone? Nope.

Description; One choice can transform you--or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves--and herself--while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable--and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

"New York Times" bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian "Divergent" series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

Star Rating; 4.75

Would I recommend it? Yes

Who would I recommend it to? Those of you who enjoyed the first book.

Review; This book, though I still enjoyed it, was not as good as Divergent. A lot of things happened, but the book seemed to have a bit of a slow start. I have waited for so long to read this book and I expected more.
There were revelations. There were lots of things in this book. I could have devoured it in one sitting, I really wanted to, but I also didn't want it to end. Which is why I read it over two days rather than one. The ending, though it isn't really a cliffhanger, like the first wasn't, makes me want to read more, as the first one did. Of course we have two wait until 2013! Why must authors and publishers make us wait so long?
The characters. Well Tris was slightly more annoying. And didn't like her as much. Four/Tobias was less understanding when he needed to be. I found myself getting slightly annoyed with them at points, but I understood why they were like that and I still didn't mind them in the end. The other characters were, as always, likeable or unlike able depending on where they stood. Marcus for instance was still a major douche. I hate him. I has my suspicions about Evelyn. All the characters are believable to me.
Though this book didn't really live up to the first in my eyes, it is still a book I could read over and over again, much like the first. I can't wait to find out what happens next! If you have not read Divergent and Insurgent you need to get your copies now. You cannot miss this series, it is a must-read!

Divergent (Divergent #1) by Veronica Roth

Title; Divergent

Author; Veronica Roth

Publisher; Katherine Tegen Books/ HarperCollins

Publication Date; April 28th 2011

Series; Divergent Book One

Can it stand alone? Not really.

Description; In a future Chicago, 16-year-old Beatrice Prior must choose among five predetermined factions to define her identity for the rest of her life, a decision made more difficult when she discovers that she is an anomaly who does not fit into any one group, and that the society she lives in is not perfect after all.

Star Rating; Five out of five.

Would I recommend it? Yes.

Who would I recommend it to? Anyone and everyone! According to the HarperCollins website this book is 14+, but I'd recommend it to 12+.

Review; Divergent is an amazing novel. Set in future Chicago this is a Dystopia novel. The world building was believable. I found myself thinking that this could be the actual future. I have not seen a bad review for this book. Not a single one. I'm sure if I was looking for one I'd find it, but the majority of reviews praise this book and its author.
The characters. None of them were particularly annoying as you usually find in a book. I found I liked most if not all of the characters. Well with an exception of the characters you are not supposed to like of course.
This book is well written. This book is amazing and it is definitely a must read!

Under Mr Nolan's Bed (Revised) by Selena Kitt

This book is for over 18s only!

Title; Under Mr Nolan's Bed

Author; Selena Kitt

Would I read anything else by this author? I'd like to try another Selena Kitt book, yes.

Publisher; CreateSpace (Self Published)

Publication Date; June 8th 2011

Series; Stand Alone Book

Can it stand alone? Of course it can, it's a stand alone book.

Description; Leah and Erica have been best friends and have gone to the same Catholic school since just about forever. Leah spends so much time with the Nolans—just Erica and her handsome stepfather now, since Erica’s mother died—that she’s practically part of the family. When the girls find something naughty under Mr. Nolan’s bed, their strict, repressive upbringing makes it all the more exciting as they begin their sexual experimentation. Leah’s exploration presses deeper, and eventually she finds herself in love for the first time, torn between her best friend and her best friend’s stepfather.

---------

This title contains erotic situations, lesbian sex, sex toys, some very naughty stepfather/stepdaughter incest and also makes mention of pornography, salmon, amusement parks, chocolate covered strawberries, brownies (as well as girl scouts), plaid skirts, naughty uses for confessionals and some sacrilegious humor.

Excerpt (You will find this on most sites);  “I saw you, Mr. Nolan.”

His jaw dropped and he looked at me, incredulous. “Saw me?”

“The night you came into the bathroom. Do you remember that?”

Glancing at him, I saw him nod, his face pale again.

“I watched you,” I admitted, my voice almost a whisper. “Touching yourself.”

“Oh Christ,” he whispered, closing his eyes.

“I can’t stop thinking about it,” I confessed. “Seeing you stroking yourself while you watched that man on the screen fuck those two girls…”

His eyes met mine, and I saw the shock in them at my language, but there was something else too, that wasn’t just shock. I’d seen it before, in the kitchen when he’d looked up my skirt, and a moment ago too, when he’d walked in and caught me masturbating.

“I can’t stop thinking about you,” I whispered, moving my hand up his thigh, high enough to feel that he was hard. I was encouraged by that, and the alcohol made me feel more free, like I’d drunk some liquid courage.

“Leah, I know this kind of thing can be confusing.” He took my hand and put it in my lap with a shaky sigh.

“I’m not confused,” I insisted, sliding down to the floor and kneeling between his legs. He shook his head, but I wrapped my arms around his waist, pressing my cheek against his crotch and nuzzling there.

“Oh hell,” he whispered, and I felt his hand moving in my hair, the lightest of touches.

“Please,” I murmured, turning my face, so my mouth moved over the hard length of him in his trousers. “I want to.”

I had him unzipped quickly, reaching in to find him, looking up into his eyes. He was dazed, startled, even a little horrified, but there was something underneath that, and whatever it was kept him from stopping me. He didn’t say no as I freed his cock and took it into my hand.

Star Rating; Four Stars for this one.

Would I recommend it? To a certain audience.

Who would I recommend it to? To those who love erotica and are not squeamish when it comes to step-dad/step-daughter getting involved.

Review; I have heard good things, and good things only when it comes to Selena Kitt's sex scenes. In no way was I let down. Her sex scenes were amazing. The plot was original and daring. But, yes unfortunately there is a but, the story itself was lacking in my eyes. Sure the book is an erotica, but I felt there was too much sex and not enough plot. Or maybe it wasn't the plot that lacked, but the writing outside of a sex scene.
Now I would still recommend this book because: One; There are a lot of mixed views because of the "taboo" subject. (Sorry for the ""s, but I just don't feel the Step-Father/Step-Daughter sex or relationships are particularly taboo.) Two; If you're going to try out something erotica it should at least be a book with a good sex scene, or you know several. Three; Whilst a few things were lacking for me - mainly the emotion, which is probably why it didn't 5*s - this book was still good enough to get four stars and I really enjoyed it.
Not all self published authors edit their work. Or have an original plot. Selena did. There were still a few mistakes with grammar and stuff, but who cares about a few grammatical mistakes when most of it is edited?
This book is a definite recommendation for lovers of erotica and taboo. And a recommendation to adults who are interested in starting to read the erotica genre.

Redemption (Redemption Series #1) by Lindsey Gray

Title; Redemption

Author; Lindsey Gray

Publisher; The Writer's Coffee Shop

Publication Date; May 17th 2011

Series; The Redemption Series Book One

Format; E-Book

Price I Paid; £0.00 (From Publisher) The Price is £12.25 at its cheapest on Amazon.co.uk

Where I got the book from; From the publisher for review.

Description; Life is for living. Afterlife is a chance at redemption. As the only remaining female vampire in existence, Lily attempts to make her way towards her ever after. But with best friend Becca, new beau Ian, human husband Ryan, Archangel Peter, and a host of demons all standing in the way of Lily’s chance at a peaceful eternity, how can she possibly survive?

Star Rating; Four Point Five (4.5)

Would I recommend it? Yes.

Who would I recommend it to? Due to a few very short scenes I'd say over 18s that have a love of Paranormal Romance and just Paranormal/Supernatural altogether.

Review; The prologue of this book really sucks the reader in. I wanted to read on. I had to find out more. It was so mysterious. Now when the beginning sucks you like that (like its supposed to) you know it's going to be a good book.
Twists and turns. A lot of things I wasn't expecting happened. Shock, disbelief, and excitement. Those were my primary emotions throughout most of the book. You find out so much, yet there is still a big sense of mystery which makes you want to read the other books in the series. Something that I need to do right about now. A review for the second one will be up soon, but I have a feeling I'm going to hate waiting for the third. And by hate I mean love, because the anticipation always makes the story better.
This book is not a book you can just skim through and still understand. You need to pay attention if you are going to read this book, otherwise you might miss some of the events that happen. A lot happens in this book. Some wondrous events, some not so much, but all events that make you want to keep reading.
Another thing I loved about this book was the way it was written! This book was written so well. Books these days usually either have a good plot and bad writing or a bed plot and good writing. This book has both! The plot is good and the way it is written is just, wow. I think I'm going to have to find more of Lindsey Gray's work if it's all written like this.
Now I bet you're thinking; if you loved this book so much why didn't you give it five stars? Honestly I'm not 100% sure why I just can't give it the full five stars. I found that I couldn't read it as quick as other books. Usually it takes me a day to read a book, but this book took me several days and not because of its length. I think this may be because of the format, the writing was too small for me. I feel that this made me miss out on the book. This is why I prefer physical copies.
This book has Vampires, Angels, Nephilim, Demons, you name it. This is totally new take on the Supernatural/Paranormal. Finally! This is the something new/different you have been searching for!
It may not get a full five stars from me, but that does not mean that this book is lacking. Its far from it in fact. If you're looking for a new supernatural/paranormal book to read, well you've found it. You cannot miss out on this gem of a book!

Would I recommend it? Yes.

Who would I recommend it to? Fans of Delirium. The short story is best fitted between book one and two. It's rightful place.

Star Rating;
Overall; 5 out of 5.
The Cover; 4 out of 5, I do like the cover, but it is not amazing.
The Plot; 4.75 out of 5, I loved seeing Hana's side of things.
The Way It Was Written; 5 out of 5, I like Lauren's style of writing, you're getting the information, but it still feels like there is a lot of mystery. It makes me want to read more.
The Story Itself; 5 out of 5, like I said I liked seeing Hana's side of things. It was well written and the way the whole story was pulled together. I loved it.
The Ending; 5 out of 5, wow, I did not see that coming. The ending was amazing, but I'm really having a love/hate relationship with it!

For People Who Haven't Read Any Of Lauren Oliver's Work; Delirium, Hana, and Pandemonium should be next on your wishlist! I'd also recommend Before I Fall, but unfortunately I haven't read it yet, so that's one of the books on my very large wishlist as well as Requiem the final book in the Delirium Trilogy! And if you have not read Delirium it's probably best you skip this review as it will contain spoilers Delirium.

Review; I had been wanting to read this short story ever since I heard of it. I am a big Delirium fan so I wanted more. A year is a long time to wait for a book. So when I came across the short story again I just couldn't put off buying it. Do I regret buying it? Of course not. Lauren is an amazing author. I really need to read more of her work. Did I find anything wrong with the story? Not at all!
I was always curious about Hana's side of things. Okay, so I'm more curious and eager to have something in Alex's POV, but I was also curious about Hana. The beautiful best friend who introduces Lena to the Underground parties. The one who was so for the movement and Underground parties and then suddenly wasn't. The best friend who once was in the front of Lena's life and then suddenly wasn't. I was always curious about her, especially considering she wasn't in Delirium a lot near the end. In this short story all of my questions about Hana were answered, even some I didn't really have until they were answered. If that makes any sense.
The ending of this story was shocking to say the least. A really big twist that you will not see coming. I had to reread the word several times to make sure I wasn't seeing things! I'm thinking I may have to read Delirium and Pandemonium again because of that explosive ending. When you read this story I'm sure you will not believe your eyes either.
Are you looking for more from the Delirium series? Looking for something to clear the deprivation while you wait for the final book? You've found it. It may leave you wanting more. It may satisfy your deprivation. Either way you must read this book.

Saving June by Hannah Harrington

Title; Saving June

Author; Hannah Harrington

Publisher; Harlequin

Publication Date; May 1st 2011

Series; Stand-Alone

Description; ‘If she’d waited less than two weeks, she’d be June who died in June. But I guess my sister didn’t consider that.’

Harper Scott’s older sister has always been the perfect one so when June takes her own life a week before her high school graduation, sixteen-year-old Harper is devastated. Everyone’s sorry, but no one can explain why.

When her divorcing parents decide to split her sister’s ashes into his-and-her urns, Harper takes matters into her own hands. She’ll steal the ashes and drive cross-country with her best friend, Laney, to the one place June always dreamed of going, California.

Enter Jake Tolan. He’s a boy with a bad attitude, a classic-rock obsession and nothing in common with Harper’s sister. But Jake had a connection with June, and when he insists on joining them, Harper’s just desperate enough to let him. With his alternately charming and infuriating demeanour and his belief that music can see you through anything, he might be exactly what she needs.

Except June wasn’t the only one hiding something. Jake’s keeping a secret that has the power to turn Harper’s life upside down again.

Stars; Five!

Would I recommend it? Totally. I loved this book, I'm sure you'd love it too!

Review; This book. What can I say about this book other than I loved it? This is the kind of book I could read over and over again. It is definitely going on to my favourites shelf. It's the kind of book that can make you laugh while you're still sobbing over the previous scene. You feel so many emotions all at once. Grief and regret are Harper's main emotions, other than anger and for me that was realistic. This whole book was realistic.
I loved the way music was weaved into the book. I am an avid listener and lover of music, the way Jake explained music to Harper, well that's how I feel about music. Music can help a person a lot, and I'm going to be checking out all the music that is in this novel. If I haven't already that is.
Saving June is a powerful book, if I didn't have to go to bed halfway through I would have never put this book down. The copy I read was an e-book, and ARC so I cannot wait to go out and buy my very own physical copy. I need to own this book because I will definitely be reading it again.
There has only ever been one or two other books that I felt as deeply about as I do this book. I'm going to be thinking back to this book for months to come. It has opened up suppressed emotions within me. I cannot fully relate to the story, but I feel like I can relate to parts. It is such a powerful and emotional book.
I'm saddened that the book had to end, but the ending was perfect for me. If you pick up any of the one books I have recommended this year, it should be this one. This book is beyond amazing. If you are looking for a book that makes you feel, then this is it!

Maybe, if she'll let him, Jake will finally tell her what he didn't say before, even if he can't actually say it.

Stars; Five out of five

Would I recommend it? I do recommend it. If you haven't picked up a copy already, then you should order it ASAP!

Review; This was a well written book for a heavy subject. The subject was not taken lightly and the book felt realistic to me. I liked how only the important days and events were written about, there was no need for filler chapters which I loved. The author's note that was at the end of this book made me like the book even more. How would you react to the news that you could never speak again? I'd want to scream, but I wouldn't be able to. To not be able to speak after being able to for so many years would be beyond difficult, for any of us. Which is why I am glad the subject was not taken lightly.
Sometimes you find with a book involving not-so-light subjects the story is just about the love and not the hardship. This is not the case with What I Didn't Say. Sure, the story has elements of love, that is what the story is about, but the love is not the main focus. The hardships and problems are front, as they should be.
I loved this book so much I want a sequel. I'd love to find out what happens with the rest of Samantha and Jake's life. I hope to see more of them in the future, but if not this one and only book was enough because it was amazingly written.
I cannot wait to see more work by Keary Taylor. This is definitely one of my favourites and I recommend you pick up your own copy now. Don't forget to read the author's note, that for me made the story more precious and likeable. A must-read.

Stars; Four Point Seven Five (4.75)

Would I recommend it? Yes

Review; I loved this short story. The ending came too soon for me though. I feel it should have been longer, but maybe that was just me enjoying the story so much. Who knows?
The characters for me were realistic. The romance was a bit too fast, but I could still believe it. The story was short, and there were only so many weeks within the story, but I still felt that enough happened. A lot happened in that short time to make it interesting, and the focus wasn't entirely on the romance or erotic aspect! I also liked the fact that there was emotions involved, a lot of romantic erotica stories are purely about the sex, but this story involved the emotion too. I would recommend this story to friends, and I'm recommending it to you all now. I really enjoyed it, and I hope you will too.

Title; Beg Me

Author; Shiloh Walker

Description; Beg me…there had been a time when those words made her burn with desire. But now, there was only fear.

Once, Tania Sinclair’s life was almost perfect…oh, it had its ups and downs but she was happily married to a guy that adored her, one who had no problem indulging every kinky fantasy she ever had. But a couple of tragedies later, she’s barely holding it together. A car accident took away her husband, and an attack from somebody she should have been able to trust has shaken not only her confidence, but it’s also stripped away her fantasies and even made it painful to look back on her memories of her husband without fear.

Two years after her attack, Tania is determined to take her life back and the first step is taking back herself…her fantasies, her dreams, her memories. There’s only one person she can trust to do it, too. One person she wants enough…Drake Bennett, her husband’s best friend.

Falling for your best friend’s wife—never smart. Drake’s watched Tania quietly for years, watched her…wanted her, knowing he’d never have her. First, she was taken. And then, that night two years ago—a night that still scars her, a night that’s left bruises on her that still haven’t healed. He does what he can, though, because he loves her too much not to. He’s her friend, there when she needs him.

And now she needs him. She’s asked him for a favor…one that just about blows his mind…

Warning: This book involves light bondage play, rape fantasy & role-playing. The acts between the hero & heroine are consensual, but they may not be ideal for all readers…

Stars; 4.75

Would I recommend it? Yes

Review; If you were to ask me to choose which story I preferred I would have no answer for you. I enjoyed both. This story involved more sexual situations, but still it was all about the emotions. I feel this story didn't need to be any longer, as I felt the previous one could have. The story - due to its subject - involved a lot of emotion. I feel that the author got a lot of the emotion right, it didn't seem too played down, or too over the top! If you haven't picked up your copy of Bound Temptations yet, I suggest you do it soon!

The Innocence of White (Vamp Chronicles #3.5) by Christin Lovell

Title; The Innocence of White

Author; Christin Lovell

Publisher; Self published (Smashwords)

Publication Date; July 7th 2012

Series; Vamp Chronicles Book Three Point Five (3.5)

Can it stand alone? Probably, but it'd be a pointless read

Description; Gabi is a full-figured vampire whose love life hasn’t been horrible, but also hasn’t been spectacular. A one-night stand eighty years ago has haunted her with a low-lying desire she was unaware of. One look at Jack again though, and her dead heart is leaping.

Eighty years ago, Jack had a connection with a plus-sized vamp beauty. The moment she discovered his true identity though, he took off, focusing on protecting his elusive reputation. Fate brought them together again though, and Jack was enraptured all over again. He has a bit of explaining to do before Gabi will give herself up to the dark vamp though.

Dive into Gabi and Jack’s love story and get a candid view of their wedding day in this Vamp Chronicles short.

Note: This is a Vamp Chronicles (series) short story best understood and enjoyed if read between book 3, Hit the Road Jack, and book 4, Vamp Versus Vamp.

Stars; 4.25

Would I recommend it? If you've read the Vamp Chronicles (It is best fitted in between book two ans three)

Review; Considering I've given one of the other books in this series 4.5*s I'd like to give this one 4.5+ as it was my favourite so far, but I feel as though I gave that book too high a rating because I just didn't want to give it a bad review. I hate giving bad reviews! If you haven't read the Vamp Chronicles series (so far) then this is a pointless read. If you have read it, it is still a pointless read, but it's cute. It is probably not worth the money I paid for it as it is a very short story. Though that didn't stop me from liking it!

Hit The Road Jack (Vamp Chronicles #3) by Christin Lovell

Title; Hit The Road Jack

Author; Christin Lovell

Series; Vamp Chronicles Book Three

Publisher; Self Published

Publication Date; December 8th 2011

Can it stand alone? Definitely not.

Description; Some hunt, and some are hunted.

With lives at stake, literally, Lexi travels the globe pursuing the element of surprise against her enemy. Unfortunately, it seems there’s a mole in her tightknit group. Lexi is forced to reevaluate her relationships, old and new, as her target closes in on her. Can her friendships survive the pressure of the front lines? And can her relationship with Kellan survive a game of cat and mouse?

Predictions aren’t always accurate, or are they?

Stars; Three and a half/Four for the overall book. One star (something which I have never given before) for the kindle edition. Chunks were missing, sentences, words, it was a little confusing, so if you are going to get this book, get it in a different format!

Would I recommend it? The book? Probably not, the story was better than the other two, it's a slow start, still. You should read the other two first, but bear in mind that I am only finishing this series because once I start a series I cannot abandon it, well most of the time. The edition? No.

Review; We dive deeper into the story and actually learn something about the prophecy! the reason I could not give this book five stars is because it still feels a little bit rushed to me. Like some things are last minute additions that don't fit correctly into the writing style, or the story itself. Loved most of the characters - as always. I'm getting a soft spot for Auggy, he's becoming one of my favourite characters.
Despite the ending, this is not the last book in the series. Though it may seem like it. The fourth book is released later this year I think. I also believe someone said there were seven all together... I'm not sure, I'll have to do my research it seems!
This is definitely not one of my favourite series, I find myself correcting unedited words in my mind, it's the occasional exciting event (there are not many) and the characters that is keeping me reading. To be frank, and not mean, I find these books slightly boring. The storyline is original, sure, but I still feel, because of the way it is written, that it is reminding me of other books. Books like Twilight. (which is mentioned far too many times throughout the series already, it's like a promotion for the series! I don't want to read another Twilight, I barely stand that story these days as it is!
Self published books always run this risk as they have not gone through an editor, or any of the other pish posh needed to polish a novel for publishing. The story is original, but not gripping. It needs to be more gripping, detailed (and I'm not talking about their outfits or the way they look, I got that already) descriptions, the events need to be written better. I'd love to give the beginning of this series so much praise, but I just can't. Sure there are good parts, but it could be better.
Now enough with the slamming! I hate slamming other people's hard work! I am sorry to say that this may be one of the only series I never finish, the ending was sufficient enough to be an official ending for me. I will probably remember this series at one point and try out the later books, but for now there is a firm On-Hold stamp on this series for me. Which is unfortunate as some other reviews I've read have praised this book so much, I guess it just wasn't for me.
The next review will be of Book 3.5 in the series. With crossed fingers (and toes, legs, arms, ect.) let's hope it's a good one, even if it is short!

Vamp Yourself for War (Vamp Chronicles #2) by Christin Lovell

Title; Vamp Yourself for War

Author; Christin Lovell

Series; Vamp Chronicles Book Two

Can it stand alone? Nope

Publisher; Still pretty sure it is self published through Smashwords, but not certain

Publication Date; June 12th 2011

Description; Love will be tested and loved ones will be lost as Lexi’s journey carries her directly into battle. She quickly finds that all isn’t fair in love and war, especially when you are dealing with the most powerful and skilled vamps in the world. War brings out the best and worst in Lexi. She will be forced to question not only herself and her relationship with Kellan, but her safety and security in all she’s known until now.

Stars; Four and a half

Would I recommend it? More so than the first.

Review; Hooray! This book was a lot better than the last. The writing seemed to flow easier, the storyline was better, the character's personalities seemed a lot better. There are a lot more positive point about this book than the last!
It's not as if the writing changed overnight, and I'm suddenly a huge fan. Bits and bobs still reminded me of Twilight, but less so. It seemed to take off in it's own direction. Some things I predicted, though I wasn't really given any clues. It seems I'm more engulfed in the story. I'm now actually intrigued to find out rather than feel obliged to as no matter how bad a series I just can't discard it!
Lexi was less "I'm fat boo hoo, now I'm gorgeous yay!" and more "Don't mess with me bitch or I'll rip your head off!" Okay, so both of those are over exaggerated, but she was a more likeable character in this book. Even with the hardships she has to deal with (which still felt a little bit down played to me!)
The story seems to move pretty fast, and that's with both the first and second book. I don't mind a fast paced story now and again, though I understand not all of you are into that, so that is another warning about this series.
This story seems to be getting better, I guess we'll find out after Hit The Road Jack, the third book! Happy Reading!

Diary of a Vampeen (Vamp Chronicles #1) by Christin Lovell

Title; Diary of a Vampeen

Author; Christin Lovell

Series; Vamp Chronicles Book One

Publisher; Smashwords (I think)

Publication Date; May 9th 2011

Description; Imagine living a human charade for fifteen years and never knowing it. Imagine being provided less than a week to learn and accept your family’s true heritage before it overtook you. Alexa Jackson, Lexi, is abruptly thrown onto this roller coaster and quickly learns that she can’t change fate, regardless of how many lifetimes she is given. She will be transformed into a vampeen on her sixteenth birthday, she will be called upon to fulfill a greater destiny within the dangerous world of vampires, and she will have to risk heartbreak and rejection if she ever wants a chance at love with Kellan, whether she likes it or not.

Stars; Three and a half stars

Would I recommend it? Now this is a difficult choice, would I recommend it? Or not? It is a different take on vampires for me, but I wasn't so sure about the writing in itself. Maybe for fans of books like Twilight, though saying that I enjoyed this book slightly more than the Twilight Series.

Review; My feelings with this book are rather mixed. The story line was different, (rare when it comes to vampires!) but the style of writing didn't draw me in. It's more of a book to try out when you have nothing else to read rather than a must read, but that's only my opinion. A few people loved and a few disliked it on Goodreads. Mixed feelings all around it seems. I'm sure I'd love this story if the writing was different.
The concept of a Vampeen is different in the novel world of vampires. I liked that it was something new, which is why I am going to carry on with the series, see where it goes. Whilst I didn't love this story, there were still things I liked about it. I'm not a fan of the Twilight Series, which this book reminded me of slightly, but there was something better about this first book in the series. If you dislike the Twilight series with a passion, it is probably best that you avoid this series even though it is better, it's not better by much. If you are a fan of Twilight you will most likely enjoy this series. It is a bit of a slow start though which is why I gave it three and a half stars rather than four.
Alexa complains far too much about her weight in my opinion, but I did like her friendship with Mel. I didn't like Mike from the beginning, I don't know why. Kellan is definitely the one to choose in my eyes! I hope if you pick up this book, you enjoy it more than I did. On to book two; Vamp Yourself For War!

Bewitching The Werewolf by Caroline Hanson

Title; Bewitching The Werewolf

Author; Caroline Hanson

Publisher; Self published

Publication Date; September 25th 2011

This is a free ebook, you cannot get it in paperback form. You can read it on an Amazon Kindle, or Smashwords!

A link to the free book on Smashwords; http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/91665

Description; When witch for hire, Megan Stephens, is assigned to help the local werewolf pack leader find a mate, she thinks the job will be easy. Get in, get it up and get gone. But when she meets Zack Connor, she realizes her future might have a lot more dog jokes in it than she ever imagined.

Stars; Four and a half

Would I recommend this book? If you're looking for a short, quick read, then yes. Warning; this book involves sex.

Review; My main, and probably only issue with this book is that it is too short. You get enough information about everything. There are no plot holes. Still, for me, it ended to abruptly! As self published books go, I haven't read many. I'd been wanting to read Bewitching The Werewolf for a while, but I just hand't got around to it. The book did not disappoint me. I laughed out loud a few times, which is always good. The characters - though we don't get to see their whole personality as it is a short read - were good, funny, and almost realistic. If you like ebooks, and free things, then you should download, or read this book on smashwords, you won't regret it. This review - like the book - is short and sweet simply because you can't really go into the depth of such a short story.

Need (Finding Anna #2) by Sherri Hayes

Title; Need

Author; Sherri Hayes

Series #; Book Two

Publisher; The Writer's Coffee House Publishing House

Publication Date; July 26th 2012

Description; As Brianna comes to terms with the realization that she is no longer a slave, she must figure out what she wants for her life. Forgetting her past isn’t an option. It is an integral part of who she is now, and it will forever shape her view of life. The one thing she knows is that she cannot imagine her life without the man who saved her, but can she be what he needs?

Stephan never imagined falling in love with the woman he rescued, but the thought of her no longer being part of his life is physically painful. The scars from her past continue to haunt her, and he is helpless to stop them. All he can do is try to help her work through the traumas of her past. Can he be everything she needs and help her move on?

The two must figure out how to navigate not only their relationship with each other, but also the outside world. A friend from Brianna’s past shows up where she least expects them, and Uncle Richard continues to enforce his well-meaning agenda to get Brianna more traditional help. As forces, both friend and foe, threaten to tear them apart, Stephan and Brianna have to navigate the turbulent waters and find what they need in each other.

Stars; Four out of five

Would I recommend it? If you are over 18, and enjoyed the first book in the series, then yes.

Review; I really want to know what happens next, and not only because of the cliffhanger. I find myself taking a liking to the character in this series. Especially Lily. I always like the over enthusiastic best friends better than the main characters. It's a weird thing of mine.
In my review of Slave, the first book in the Finding Anna series, I referred to Brianna as Vulnerable. Now I'm thinking that wasn't quite the word I was looking for. Innocent. That is the word I want to use. A once brave, independent woman who has become like a child in her need to ask permission to do anything.
In Need we see Brianna open up a little bit more. Though she is still very reluctant to do so. It makes me see her as brave, but in a heartbreaking way. It is a shame the damage this character had to go through, and just reading about gave me a heavy heart.
Emotionally, I connected more with this book than the first. Which made me enjoy it just that little bit more, but still not enough for five stars I'm afraid. That doesn't stop me wanting the third book though, as this is still a worthy series.
This instalment is slightly more sexual, but still the book does not off road from the plot. The plot, focusing on Brianna's past, and how she feels about all of these new situations, is a constant. The author didn't lose sight of that, which is sometimes the case with sequels.
Overall if you enjoyed the first instalment, then pre order this book now. If you haven't read the first book (Slave) you should pick up a copy of that first! An enjoyable book, and as far as sequels go, this one was great.

Slave (Finding Anna #1) by Sherri Hayes

Title; Slave

Author; Sherri Hayes

Number in series; Book One

Publisher; The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House

Publication Date; July 28th 2011

Description; Stephan has lived the lifestyle of a Dominant for five years. After several rebellious teenage years, it gave him the stability and control he had been seeking after his parent’s death.

As president of a not-for-profit foundation, he knows what his future holds and what he wants out of life. All that changes when a simple lunch with his college friend and Mentor, Darren, leads him to buying a slave.

Thrust into a situation he never thought he’d be in, Stephan can’t walk away. He is compelled to help this girl in the only way he knows how.

Brianna knows only one thing, she is a slave. She has nothing. She is nothing.

Can Stephan help Brianna realize that she is much more than just a Slave?

Stars; Four out of five

Would I recommend it? If you are over 18, and enjoy a story for adults that isn't purely about the sex then this book is for you.

Review; Firstly I'd like to say that I though Brianna was portrayed brilliantly. She is very damaged and though you never see the word vulnerable in the book, I feel that's the word that comes to mind for me. Though she has had to be strong because of her past, not only as a slave, but before she became a slave, I feel she relies on others. She is strong, but not independent. Her vulnerability is mainly through her POV, Stephan seems to notice her damage, but not the vulnerability.
Stephan loves to help people. I liked that, because it made him softer and more understanding with Brianna which is what she needed. It also made me like his character more. Sometimes in erotica books the male character is a douche, but the female character falls head over tit anyway, that is not the case with Slave.
I feel like I could ring Ian Pierces neck. He may be a fictional character, but he still gave me the creeps. I hope I never meet a man like him, ever.
Upon reading the description some of you may think "another fifty shades." If you are thinking that you are beyond wrong. This novel has the depth that fifty shades lacked. The main focus is the story line, not just sex, sex, and more sex. Which made this book a lot more enjoyable than some other books I have read in the erotica category. The lust is there, but it is not the sole focus, making this book an enjoyable read rather than just book porn.
The only reason this book gets four stars instead of five is because while I enjoyed this in depth eye opening novel, I didn't love it. I'm not sure why that is to be honest. Maybe it's because whilst I felt some of the pain and emotion in this novel, I didn't feel it all. I feel it should have been more raw. Maybe I will find what I am looking for in the next book.
Whist I didn't love the book, I did really enjoy and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.If you are 18+ and looking for an emotional, in depth story line with your erotica books, then get out and buy Slave by Sherri Hayes now! Happy Reading!

Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide To Getting Girls by Tellulah Darling

Book Title; Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide To Getting Girls

Author; Tellulah Darling

Publication Date; October 17th 2012

Publisher; Te Da Media

Description; Why the hell can’t chicks be more like guys?

That question plagues high school senior Sam Cruz. Sam is perfectly happy being a player. He just wishes girls wouldn’t change the game from sex to relationships. It makes him look like an asshole. But when Sam’s best friend, Ally Klinger, gets dumped, she begs him to transform her into someone who can screw around then screw off. No risk of heartbreak that way. It’s Sam’s chance to create the perfect female AND cheer up his best friend. Armed with Sam’s Three Step Guide to Backseat Success, Ally gets the game better than Sam thought she would and before long, Sam has his wish: the female version of himself. Too bad it’s driving him nuts. Told from Sam’s and Ally's alternating POVs, Sam Cruz’s Infallible Guide to Getting Girls is a fast-paced romantic comedy that follows these teens as they navigate the minefield of sex, love, and friendship.

Stars; Five out of five.

Would I recommend it? Definitely!

Review;  This book is amazing. I really enjoyed it and I think you should just pre-order it already! There were moments where I laughed out loud, which can be rare with me and books and I'm sure the ridiculous smile hardly ever left my face. Honestly, I can't wait to see what else Tellulah brings out, and that's not exaggeration. The book was quirky and fun.
All of the characters were believable. I loved Ally's personality. Sam was portrayed in the right way for me. I loved the Ally and Sam moments best in the book, they are brilliant as best friends. The supporting characters were fun as well.
Usually when there are alternating POVs it can get annoying. That is not the case with Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide To Getting Girls, I actually preferred it that way. Another rare thing for me.
Another thing I loved is that it was un-put-down-able. There's no way I could have put this book down for even a second. It really is a fast-paced romantic comedy. You know, I think this is going to have to go on my favourites shelf. If you're looking for something fast-paced, funny and just plain brilliant, then this is the book for you! Don't forget to pre-order your copy now!

Dusk by Susan Gates

Title; Dusk

Author; Susan Gates

Published; 19th May 2005

Blurb; Dusk knows where she fits in.
             Day is Wolf's time.
             Night belongs to the rats.
             And she is Dusk.

She's earned her place as one of the top predators. She's human enough to feel proud of that. But then Jay, the boy, stumbles into the deserted town. He's food for the predators. If the dogs don't get him, the rats will.
Is Dusk human enough to help him?
And can he help save her?

Stars; Three and a half.

Would I recommend it? Yes and no. If you are an avid reader looking for something different, I would recommend this book. It is not something I would recommend to my friends though, or to someone who doesn't read a lot.

Review; The book was short at only 172 pages. It felt as if it was only half a book. There could have been a lot more information, especially with the side characters.
During the beginning of this book my heart ached for Dusk. During most of the book in fact. She was so confused when it came to human affection, my heart really went out to her.  She was so scared.
Jay however wasn't a very good character in my eyes. He was whiny and pathetic. Or at least he was in my eyes. It was only near the ending when he started to be a bit more mature, that I  began to like his character a little bit.
One of the main things I didn't like was the age of the main characters. Both were thirteen and I felt they should have been older. There reactions weren't as panicked as they should have been either, well Jay's reactions.
There are a few things I didn't like about this book, which is why it only got three and a half stars, but it was an original story. You don't come across those often these days, it is usually the same story told in a different way, but it needed to be longer. A lot of others have enjoyed this book, but while I enjoyed it I see room for improvement. Or a sequel.
If you are looking for something new, pick this book up. I'd say the age range was 13+ there is a lot of swearing and some terrible scenes that even made me cringe! I didn't know what to expect from this book, but what I got was better than I thought it would be. I'm not sure if you would be able find it in your local book store, but you can find it on-line. Try Amazon!
Happy Reading!
